ABOUT ME
Hi! I’m Harriet Throsby. I’m drawn to personal stories and the conversations that bring them to life.

My work spans documentary filmmaking, journalism, and audio production, with a focus on real people and the worlds they navigate. I’m especially interested in process-driven storytelling — how media can create space for people to share their perspectives, in their own words.

Throughout my time at Duke University, I explored different corners of media and storytelling. I’ve interviewed a wide range of subjects — from fashion photographers to flea market vendors to school bus drivers — producing documentaries, podcasts, and investigative journalism that explore social issues and everyday experiences.

I’ve worked on original podcasts and live events at Tribeca Enterprises, and dove into branded production and editing at OBB Media in Los Angeles. Most recently, I created a short documentary on immigrant solidarity in Durham and reported a longform profile on a local bus driver organizing for better working conditions.

Right now, I just finished co-directing a music video in LA and am in the process of editing it. I’m excited to keep making work that’s personal, collaborative, and meaningful — and to keep growing as a storyteller along the way.
